Adela,
I am so saddened to hear of Millard’s passing, I was shocked. We had talked just before his surgery and I had called a couple times. Millard and were able to pray together  a week or two before it over the phone. My husband and I are so grateful to have had lunch at Christmas.

Your brother was my friend for 28 years we met at Second Baptist Church in Sunday school. To say his passing this is a huge loss is an understatement. I valued his friendship so very very much. If any one loved Jesus,  it was Millard. I have appreciated his kind words and prayer over the years. He sure loved you and his niece.

Millard had such a great sense of humor! Millard would get a look in his face with a twinkle in his eye when he was laughing, I remember one year during Octoberfest, the sign out front of the restaurant front said “ LIVE HUMPA Band”! It was hysterical and we could not stop laughing! Millard could not stop teasing and laughing about it! He was so funny!

He loved you so very much! I remember him being so very excited to marry you, and we worked together to get the perfect ring. I am so grateful you came into his life.

I am so proud to have had him as my friend, he was so kind and giving with his time. He would pray for everyone. If you knew Millard, he prayed for you. I will miss his laugh and sarcastic sense of humor, he could always make someone smile. 

I am proud to say I was his friend and servant in Christ Jesus.  There is no doubt he was welcomed in to Heaven and he wears The Crown of Life!


I was saddened to hear about the passing of Millard. I always enjoyed his pleasant personality and musical skills while he was playing music with Jason Keepers. My sincere sympathy goes out to Millard's family. 

Millard, tu partida ha sido inesperada, esperábamos tenerte muchos años, has dejado una huella imborrable en el corazón. Te acogí como el hijo que no tuve, gracias por todo lo compartido, gracias por llenar nuestra vida de felicidad, especialmente la de mi hija, fuiste un ángel  de amor en nuestras vidas, tu recuerdo siempre estará con nosotros.

Millard, siempre recordaremos el buen hombre que eras, alegre, amoroso, bondadoso,  gracias por toda la felicidad que diste a nuestra familia, descansa en la paz del señor, siempre te vamos a querer y extrañar, te llevaremos en el corazón y en nuestras oraciones,  Gracias eternas.

Millard Kirby and I spoke on a range of topics, eventually our conversations would return to business or faith, mostly how faith is at the center of a life well lived.  I often invited Millard to social events, whether a business happy hour, or casino charity night (below). I think Millard was my lucky charm that night, I did great. I will surely miss his perspectives, his stories, and the way he succinctly wrapped complex things up in a few words. Thank you for your friendship. My Prayers are with you my friend, your spirit will always remain with me🙏🕊🌻
