

Monique Jhaunell Prowell was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 6, 1983, to Donna Beulah Coe and LeAndre Jordan. She departed this life on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the age of 41. Her mother, Donna Beulah Coe, and her son, Jordan Moore, preceded her in death.
Monique grew up in the St. Louis area, attending St. Louis Public Schools, Normandy Schools Collaborative, and Ferguson-Florissant Schools. She was known for her beauty, confidence, warm personality, and her ability to bring energy and joy into every room she entered. A great conversationalist and trusted confidant, she had a way of making people feel heard, valued, and understood. Known for her vibrant spirit and infectious energy, she was truly the life of the party.
Monique built a career in food service, working for many years as a manager. Her leadership, dedication, and caring nature made her well-loved among colleagues and customers alike. Monique also had a generous spirit and often helped friends and family gain employment at the places where she worked, opening doors for others to succeed.
On August 6, 2011, Monique married the love of her life, Marcel Prowell. Together, they shared 14 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Monique’s greatest joy was her children, whom she loved deeply and supported with unwavering devotion.
She was best known for her exceptional cooking, her vibrant presence, and her love for spending time with family and friends. Monique was beautiful, confident, and Monique loved celebrating life—dancing, enjoying good food, and surrounding herself with the people she loved most. She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, sleeping in, shopping, watching TV, and sharing laughter with loved ones. Her favorite color was purple, a fitting reflection of her bold yet graceful spirit.
Monique’s legacy is one of love, energy, and togetherness. She loved her family! She will be remembered for her big heart, her joyful laughter, and her ability to make everyone around her feel special.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Marcel; her children, Moriah and Marcel Jr.; her father, LeAndre Jordan (Jodi); her grandmother, Gloria Jordan; one brother, Jamel Hopkins; seven sisters, Tamara Holley (Michael), Tajha Sproling, Sarah Jordan, Alison Jordan, Jalyn Jordan, Leah Jordan, and Stacy McCarter. Monique is also survived by six aunts, Patricia Gerran, Linda Fields (Sam), Mechelle Coe (Jeffery), Shaunace Washington, Teffeny Coe, and Kimberly Tucker; three uncles, Larry Williams, Michael Sneed, and Eric Jordan (Nicole), sister-in laws, Tasha McCuller, and Serena Melvin, her brother in-laws, Randy McCuller and Travis Prowell, and a host of other relatives and countless friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
