Richard Allaster Yates, Jr. was born in Shreveport, LA on March 15, 1958. He passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the age of 55. He graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 1976 and LSUMC-S School of X-ray on 1978. Richard and Zbbra were married in June of 1980 and together they have three children Daniel, Michael and Amanda. In June of 2013 Amanda and her husband Dan Miller blessed the family with their first grandchild, Graham.
Richard and Zbbra moved to Houston in 1986. Richard spent many years working in the Houston Medical Center, first at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital and later at Memorial Hermann. The last six years of his career were spent at North Cypress Medical Center as a Cath Lab tech.
Richard’s personality, heart and voice were as big as he was. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and make you feel like he’d known you forever. He loved hunting, fishing, and road trips, but most of all he loved his family.
The memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 4:00pm at Katy Funeral Home in Katy TX.
