

Treva Jo Ray, 78, passed away May 6, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held Wednesday May 10, 2017 at 11:00AM at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, Texas 77494 with good friend Eudean Howard officiating. A reception will follow.
Treva Jo (Johnson) Ray was born November 24, 1938 to Frank and Juanita Johnson in Victoria, Texas. Juanita passed away when Treva was 6 years old and her brother (Lyn Loyd Johnson) was 4 years old. Due to hard times they were eventually sent to live with their Grandparents in Eakly, Oklahoma. Treva met Everett Dale Ray while attending school in Eakly. They were married July 11, 1958 in Eakly, Oklahoma while both were attending college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. They moved to Borger, Texas in July, 1959 where their first son, Michael Dale Ray was born in November, 1959 and their second son, Gary David Ray was born in February, 1962.
Treva loved playing golf with her husband and two sons. She also liked all kinds of crafts, painting, making quilts, and later in life she liked making beaded necklaces and bracelets and giving them to the members of her family and just about anyone else who showed an interest in them. She had a beautiful smile that brought warmth to each person she met. She was a happy person and truly enjoyed meeting and talking with people.
She is survived by Dale Ray her husband of 58 years, her sons Michael Ray and wife Sheryl of Conroe, TX and Gary Ray and wife Vickie of Katy, TX; seven grand children; Justin Ray and wife Vanessa of Orlando, Florida; Nathaniel Ray of Austin, TX; Blaine Ray of Orlando, Florida; Corbin Ray and wife Amy of Katy, TX; Lexie Flack and husband Ronnie of Crosby, TX; Holly Ray of Katy, TX; and Macy Ray of Katy, TX; three great-grandchildren; Addison Ray and Layla Ray of Katy,TX; and Ronnie Flack III of Crosby, TX; one brother; Lyn Johnson and wife Barbara of Edmond, Oklahoma.
Family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made in Treva’s name to Hospice Compassus, 1770 St. James Place, Suite 330, Houston, Texas 77056
