Violet Elizabeth Meade

Violet Elizabeth Meade, 86, of Missouri City, Texas made her transition to be with our heavenly Father on Saturday, January 30, 2021. She passed away peacefully in her sleep knowing that she was deeply loved by her family and friends.

Violet was born on March 2, 1934 in Donaldsonville, Louisiana to Telesphore and Loretta Francis. She was a long-time resident of New Orleans, LA as well as Missouri City, TX. She graduated from Booker T. Washington high school in New Orleans. Upon marriage to her long-time love Andrew Meade Sr., she began married life as a U.S. Air Force wife and mother.

Violet possessed a great thirst for knowledge and was an avid reader and traveler. She enjoyed politics, basketball and had a great sense of humor. She was a people-person and loved to help those in need. As a devout Catholic, Violet attended St. Marks Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold, Gerard and Arnold Francis; sisters, Veronica Washington, Marion Thomas and best friend Ruth Pryor. She leaves behind her loving husband of 65 years, Andrew Sr. of Missouri City, TX; sister, Rita Weaver of New Orleans, LA; daughter, Michelle and fiancé David of Katy, TX; sons, Andrew Jr. and wife Lynda of Mountain View, CA; Eric and Marquette of Katy, TX; Michael and wife Christina of Richmond, TX; grandchildren, Anna-Noel, Ramsey, Everett, Jasmine, Arnesia; best friends Hazel Gibbs, Catherine Hawthorne, Sylvia Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The visitation and funeral will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021 in the chapel of Katy Funeral Home 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494. Visitation 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Funeral 4:00 pm.

The graveside service will be held at 9:30 am at The Veterans National Cemetery on Monday, February 8, 2021 (Lane 2) 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038
