He was born in Keene, March 1, 1955, the son of the late Calvin R. and Betty Jane (Treadwell) Gaouette. Calvin had resided on Cape Cod for over twenty years prior to moving back to the Keene area in 2001.
Mr. Gaouette graduated from Keene High School class of 1974 and had worked in the construction trade for many years. He was employed in the construction field on the Cape with Louis Seminara Construction and for a time he owned and operated his own construction company. At the time of his death, he was employed by Bergeron Construction Company.
He was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Keene and was a member of the Keene Original Group of AA. He enjoyed bow, muzzle, rifle hunting, ice fishing and camping with his family. But his most enjoyable thing to do was to spend time with his wife, children, grandchildren & family. He enjoyed helping everyone and anyone in need, especially going to CMC Mental Health Unit to speak to patients experiencing a crisis in their lives as he could relate to their stories and to let them know there is always hope. He was always there to lend a hand to all, or if you just needed someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on.
Survivors include: his wife of six years: Deborah (Fenstermaker) Gaouette of Winchester, two sons: Tyler Gaouette, and Trevor Gaouette, both of Monroe, NH.; a daughter Michelle Torres and her husband Frederick of Youngstown, Ohio; two stepdaughters: Tracy Lewis and Tonya Lewis, both of Biddeford, ME.; one brother Jeffrey Gaouette and his wife Kelly of Winchester; three sisters: Christie Yardley and her husband Charles of Keene, Jennifer Gaouette of Keene and Caleen Garrison and her husband Clyde of Colorado Springs, CO., five grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
