Carolyn Lees Fleming

Carolyn Lees Fleming passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 26, 2025. She was born in Fall River, MA on September 7, 1931, to the late Chester and Gladys Lees. When she was nine years old her family moved to New Hampshire where she remained throughout her life.

She was a graduate of Hinsdale High School, and Keene State College. After graduation, she taught school in Westport, CT and then her remaining years of teaching were in the Keene School District. Carolyn lived in Swanzey most of her adult life. Two of her favorite things included folk art painting and knitting. She gifted many paintings and knitted treasures to her family. She loved spending each summer in Wells, ME as well as traveling throughout the United States with her family.

Carolyn leaves a sister, Barbara Hewitt of Swanzey, two nieces, Kimberly Croteau (husband Gary) of Swanzey and Kristen Warner (husband Tom) of Westmoreland. She was predeceased by her nephew Jeff Hewitt. In addition, she leaves nieces Ashley Heed, Alyssa Cloonan, and Brittany Shuffelt and nephews Bryan Stewart and Kyle Croteau. Cal also leaves five great nephews and one great niece.

There will be no services at her request. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Swanzey.
