Life’s journey peacefully ended for Daniel W. Chase, 60, in the solitude of his home in Alstead, on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Dan was a native of Keene, graduating from Keene High School in 1975, working in the community for many years and starting a family.
His parents, Stanley and Evelyn (Howard) Chase taught him the value of hard-work and the wonderful meaning of family and a loving home. Dan took the lessons from his parents and applied them to his own life: he worked for the City of Keene for many years. Throughout his life he worked very hard building, maintaining and enjoying his farm. He raised beef cattle and was an avid animal lover, especially his “grandpuppies” Finley, Moose and Hunter.
When he wasn’t working hard his passions were working on old cars and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, especially going fishing.
Above all Dan loved his family and he was a devoted Father. Cooking was also one of the passions that he loved to share with his family: Perhaps one of their favorite things that he would make was his “Chocolate-Peanut-Butter Cake”.
He is survived by two daughters: Amber Chase-Clark of Keene and Ashley Chase and her loving companion Will Collins of Charlestown, his sister: Marie Kern of Maryland and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is also survived by his dear friend and the mother of his children: Lori Beniot of Charlestown.
Dan’s family and friends will remember him in a Celebration of his Life on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 11:30am at the Odd Fellows Hall, 5 Church St. Marlow, NH. 03456: all are welcome.
