Douglas "Doug" Bruce Morse of Harrisville, NH, passed away after a brief illness on January 23,2025 at Cheshire Medical Center. He was born June 20,1938 in Whitefield, NH, the son of Howard and Jessie (Wallace) Morse.
Doug graduated from Keene High School, class of 1956. Following graduation, he served with the United States Air Force in Guam.
In 1962 he married the love of his life, Janet Boyea. They celebrated 52 years of marriage.
Doug retired from MARKEM Corporation after 42 years, he was a machine assembler and early on in his career he was the company photographer. Doug served as a police officer for Keene PD, was the police chief and the assistant fire chief of Harrisville.
Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, black powder muzzleloader shoots, primitive rendezvous, watching F1, Indy, and NASCAR racing. He especially loved history and would occasionally give you a quiz to test your knowledge. He has such treasured memories as a kid growing up on the Wallace Farm in Dalton, NH.
He is predeceased by his father Howard Morse, mother Jessie (Wallace) Morse, wife Janet (Boyea) Morse, and two sons-in-law: Keith Madden and Jim Madden.
He is survived by his children: Walter Morse and his wife Julie of Harrisville, NH, Marianne Madden of Swanzey, NH, and Kelly Madden of Troy, NH: grandchildren: Allen Madden of Swanzey, NH, Karl Madden of Swanzey, NH, Ashley Tucker and husband Chad of Harrisville, NH, Nick Nelson of Keene, NH, and Stephanie Strickland and husband Justin of Harrisville, NH; great-grandchildren: Taryn Madden, Lacee Madden, James Madden, Cameryn Madden, Kristopher Madden, Beaudren Madden, Dustin Tucker, Dillon Tucker, and one Strickland on the way (tbd).
There will not be any calling hours. A private service will be held by the family at a later date.
