

He was born in Laconia, NH, March 05, 1953, the son of Mary (Nedeau) and Earle Leighton Lund, II.
He majored in Business Administration at Norwich University, graduating in 1975, received his commission, and entered the United States Air Force on May 1, 1976. While attending Norwich University, he was a member of the college’s intramural wrestling team, the Pistol Club, and a member of Alpha Kappa.
He served in the United States Air Force over twenty years, with his primary specialties as an Airlift Pilot, Analytical Studies Officer, Bomber Pilot General and a B52 Bomber Pilot, and was stationed at several bases within both the United States and Germany.
He received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal, AF Organizational Excellence Award with one oak leaf cluster, and the AF Outstanding Unit Award with two oak leaf clusters. He served from August 2, 1990 to November 30, 1995 in support of Operation Desert Storm, receiving the Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Combat Readiness Medal with one oak leaf cluster, AF Longevity Service Award with three oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon and the AF Training Medal. Mr. Lund retired as a Lt. Colonel, on August 31, 1996.
Following his career military obligations, he worked as a case worker in Ocala, Florida and as a sales manager with Security Access Systems in Inverness, Florida.
He had a passion for writing and completed a book on “The Battle of Britain” which is used today for military training. He loved listening to the “oldies”, acrylic and oil painting, woodworking and restoring his 1980 Corvette. He especially enjoyed taking long walks, jogging in the woods, and mountain climbing.
He was a member of Jerusalem Lodge No. 104 of the Masonic Order and a parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Keene.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Cheryl A. (Phillips) Lund of Keene; two children, Jennifer L. Lund and Earle L. Lund, IV, both of Keene; two grandchildren, Nathanial R. Lund and Zachary T. Lund, both of Keene; his father, Earle L. Lund, II, of Stoddard, NH; a sister, Susan D. Adams, of Sandy, Utah; his mother-in-law, Barbara A. Sullivan, of Keene; his sister-in-law, Barbara Hammond, of Keene; his sister-in-law, Karen Libby of Pacific, WA; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and a close family friend, Mary Durgin of Campton, NH. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary V. Lund, on January 14, 2006 and his father-in-law, Paul F. Sullivan, on December 1, 2012.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. The Jerusalem Lodge No. 104 of the Masonic Order will offer a prayer service at 7:00PM.
