

She was born in Endicott, New York, February 17, 1917, the daughter of Pearl (Dionne) and Edward Webster Cole. She was a 1934 graduate of Gardner (Mass.) High School.
Mrs. Hackler worked as a secretary at the Peerless Insurance and National Grange Mutual Insurance Company in Keene, and the former Hall and Croteau Insurance Agency and Funeral Home in Marlborough, NH. She also worked with the Catholic Charities in Keene.
In 1938, she married George T. Hackler in York, Maine. While living in Marlborough, she was an active parent in the Brownies and 4-H, as well as Sunday school superintendent at the Marlborough Federated Church.
During World War II, she was a plane spotter on George Hill.
After moving to Keene in 1962, Edna was active in the United Church of Christ in Keene as deaconess, mission leader and the adult sponsor, making the Hot Line possible, even while attending classes at Keene State College. In recent years she assisted her daughter and son-in-law with the Carriage Barn on Main Street, in Keene. She was an active and loved member of the Keene Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her children, David G. Hackler and his wife, Anna, Marilee H. Rouillard and her husband, David, all of Keene, Claudia H. Lake and her husband, Bruce of South Carolina; grandchildren, David G. Hackler, Jr. and his wife, Lynn of New York, Donald M. Hackler and his wife, Rindy, and Daniel J. Hackler and his wife, Ann, all of Keene, Heather L. Letson and her husband, John, of Manchester, NH, Rachel Rouillard and Ken Chadwick, both of Durham, NH, Matthew Rouillard and his wife, Cory, of New York; her adopted children, Kwangseek and Jean Choe, and their children Eunice and Eusung, all of New York; great-grandchildren, Abby Hackler, Grace Hackler, Will Chadwick, Ian Letson, Colin Letson; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, her parents, a sister, Valerie, and a brother, Leon Cole.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at noon in the Keene Assembly of God Church, 121 Park Avenue, Keene. Burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Marlborough, will be private. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
