

She was born on August 27, 1941, the daughter of Clarence Willette and Hanna (Cole) Whitney. A lifelong resident of the area, she was raised by her mother and step father, Floyd Whitney and earned her GED through Keene High School.
Earlier in her life, Mrs. Day worked for Princess Shoe Company for 10 years. She went on to work at Franklin School, first as a “luncheon maid”, but eventually worked as a teacher’s aide for kindergarten and first grade classes. She also worked as a teacher’s aide for Keene Headstart for three years. In addition, she actively sold Tupperware for a number of years.
Mrs. Day was active in the Salvation Army for many years including being a member of the Junior Relief Corp for 12 years.
She was an avid NASCAR fan especially of #24, Jeff Gordon. She enjoyed doing crafts, puzzles and word searches. She was a fan of Willie Nelson. Mrs. Day enjoyed going to the Cheshire Fair and other fairs as well. Hampton Beach and Old Orchard Beach were also favorite places to visit.
She is remembered by her family as being a very loving person, giving, tough, and a woman who loved her family very much.
Mrs. Day is survived by her children: Bonnie Champney of Winchester, Cheryl Ann Champney and fiancé William LaPlante of Keene, Robert Champney, and wife Susan, of Stoddard, Raymond Supernor and life partner Marcia Murdough of Keene; her grandchildren, Amanda Bashaw, Daniel Faulkner, Shawn Witfoth, Darryl Hudson, Natasha Hudson, John Witfoth, Robert Champney Jr., Kevin Champney, April Thrasher, Raymond Supernor, Jr., Ayna Supernor, and Kira Supernor; 19 great grandchildren; her brother John Willette of Swanzey; her sisters Carolina Kretschmar of Swanzey, Sally Parker of Bow Head City, AZ, Gail Hedbloom of Swanzey, Rosie Duffy of Laconia, NH, Robin Semeneau of Swanzey, Marie Campbell of Westmoreland, Pat Willette of Keene as well as numerous nieces and nephews and very close friends. Her daughter Debbie Champney, sister Angie Lymon, and companion, Andrew Croteau all died earlier.
Services for Mrs. Day will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, 1:00 PM at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. Calling hours will be held the same day from 12:00 noon – 1:00 PM also at the funeral home. (www.fletcherfuneralhome.com) Burial will follow at the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue in Keene. Captain Doris Setty of the Salvation Army will officiate.
