

He was born in Surry, NH, December 18, 1914, the son of Clifford and Ina (White) Wilbur.
He was a lifelong farmer on the family farm. He was well known for his showing of his prize oxen and draft horses as well as competing in many oxen and draft horse pulling competitions throughout New England. He was an honorary life member of the Association of New England Ox Teamsters Incorporated.
Mr. Wilbur loved attending the Cheshire Fair, something he did for the past 76 years without missing one event. He was a past member of the Surry Grange for many years.
He enjoyed having a huge vegetable garden from which he shared the bounty with friends and family, and had a special affection for animals, the great of outdoors and nature as a whole. One of his favorite things to do was to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren; from as simple as going for rides for ice cream, going fishing, to traveling to Disney World.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Linda P. (Burroughs) Wilbur of Surry; his three children, Susan B. Leach and her husband, Bruce, of Chateaugay, NY, David R. Miller of Surry and his friend Deb Wojtkielewciz of Walpole, Johnathan M. Miller and his wife Karole, of Battleboro, NC; two grandchildren, Lynn Marie Leach and Benjamin Leach, both of Chateaugay; a niece, Sylvia Makinen and her husband, Arnold, of Westmoreland, NH; nephew, Roger Wilbur, Sr. and his wife, Nancy, of Surry; brother-in-law, Victor Burroughs of Pennsylvania; two great-nephews; one great-niece; and four great-great-nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Deman Wilbur.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 10:00AM in the Church of the Nazarene, 55 Maple Avenue, Keene, NH. Rev. Dr. John F. Reilly, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Village Cemetery, Village Road, Surry. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH.
