Janet Wells Rizzo

She was the daughter of Charles B. and Florence (Minall) Wells, born on March 15, 1929 in Hartford, CT. Janet graduated from Bulkeley high school in 1946.

Janet married Anthony Rizzo in 1950 and together they had 4 children.

Janet worked for several companies including the Putnam Brokerage House in Hartford, CT and Caldor Stores in Avon, CT where she retired after working over 23 years. She was a long-time member of the Collinsville Congregational Church and served on the Missions Committee.

Janet had a special place in her heart for animals; she enjoyed any part of nature and often said that she would be assigned the animal section of Heaven! Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Many of her summers were spent in Burlington, Vermont with her beloved Grandmother and Aunts.

Janet is survived by her son David A. Rizzo and his wife Laura of Farmington, CT; her daughters Diana R. Dillon and husband Stewart of Hinsdale, NH, Pamela R. DeLong and husband Scott of Clearwater, FL and Susan R. Wilcox and husband Glenn of Simsbury, CT; her 12 grandchildren Caroline DeLong, Scott DeLong IV, Jason Dillon, Jennifer Tripp, Sarah Beth Atherton, Michael Dillon, Rebekah Wilcox, Olivia Wilcox, Charles Wilcox, Kyle Rizzo, Jenna Rizzo, Chad Rizzo; her 8 great grandchildren Shaya Gibbs, Joshua and Jacob Tripp, Annabelle and Madelyn Atherton, Bryce Dillon, Oliver Dillon, Scott DeLong V and several nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Rizzo and her sister, MaryLou LeDoux.

Her family will remember her as an intellectual person, a wonderful giver of great advice, an avid animal lover, and teacher of good manners!

A Memorial Service for Janet will be held at a later date at Collinsville Congregational Church. Fletcher Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH is assisting with the arrangements.
