Clinton and Ruth (Davis) Brown welcomed their daughter into the world on June 1, 1939 in Keene. She grew up in Surry and graduated from Keene High School in 1957.
On October 15, 1960 Joanne married Bernard A. Morse of Marlborough, NH. The two made a home in Marlborough and raised their three children.
Well known in the Marlborough community, Joanne was employed by Wilbur Brothers for many years until her retirement.
Joanne was an avid reader and enjoyed shows on the Game Show Network in between games of Solitaire on her computer. She attended her husband’s Keene Softball League games and became the scorekeeper.
Joanne will be fondly remembered as generous and thoughtful with a genuine, caring heart.
Joanne is dearly missed by her children: Michael Morse and his wife Karen of Spofford, Donna Croteau of Keene, and Sharon Fish of Swanzey; grandchildren: James O’Brien, Karri O’Brien, Tiffany Howard, Tyler Croteau, Brittany Morse, and Lacey Pelto; great-grandchildren: Hailey Howard, Carter Howard, Noah Pelto, and Leah “Sissy” Pelto; brothers: Russell Brown and his wife Gloria of South Hadley, MA, and Ralph Brown and his wife Patricia of Dover, NH; and brother-in-law: Frank Buffum, Sr. of Swanzey.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years: Bernard Morse; parents: Clinton and Ruth Brown; and sister: Judith Buffum.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, April 22 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 23 at 10:30 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Marlborough, NH.
