
She was born in Proctor, VT on June 15, 1925, the daughter of Fred and Edith (Hier) Hobbs, Sr.
She grew up in Pittsford, VT and then lived in Salisbury, VT for a number of years. In 1953, she moved to North Swanzey.
Mrs. Dragon worked at Princess Shoe for 16 years before working for Roberts Hart. She then worked for MPB Corporation before retiring.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Brandon, VT and was also a member of the Connecticut River Sportsman’s Club. Mrs. Dragon attended the Westport Community Church.
She enjoyed dancing and playing piano. More recently, she took up knitting as a hobby.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Boudrieau of North Swanzey; brothers Albert Hobbs of Middlebury, VT and Burton Hobbs of Hydeville, VT; sisters Barbara Loomis of Hydeville, VT and Maureen Ash of Ganesvroot, NY; four grandchildren Alyson Daniels, Doreen Nionakis, , Alfred Longe, Jr. and Andrea Longe; four great grandchildren Peter Nionakis, Alizabeth Longe, Crystal Longe and John Nionakis; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband Curtis Dragon, son Alfred Longe, brothers Bernard, Wayne, Stewart, and Fred (Jr). Hobbs and sisters Lydia Dragon and Carolyn Hobbs all died earlier.
Services for Mrs. Dragon will be held on Monday, November 28th, 2011, 11:00 AM at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Swanzey. Calling hours will be held Sunday afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in June B. Dragon’s name to the American Red Cross, 83 Court St., Keene, NH 03431 or to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
