Kathleen E. (Winn) Shine 67, of Zephyrhills, FL and formerly of Elm Street, Keene, NH died in Zephyrhills on Saturday, July 23, 2011 after a long illness.
She was born in Keene, NH on April 20, 1944 the daughter of Francis and Estelle (Trombley) Winn.
Kathi grew up in Keene attended Keene Schools and was a 1962 graduate of Keene High School. She was a homemaker, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved to travel and Kathy and her husband Walter traveled throughout the United States, Canada and parts of South America for the past fourteen years. She had a passion for reading and when her eyesight started to fail her family gave her books on tape. She loved the movies and spending time with her family. When her girls were growing up she wanted to be involved in their activities and served as a room mother at Fuller School, was a Girl Scout Leader, and 4-H leader. She was a communicant at St. Bernard’s Church in Keene and was an active member of the Court Josephine Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Walter W. Shine; her three daughters Kristen Earle of Walpole, NH, Mary Grinstead and her husband Larry of Chico, CA, and Elizabeth Obrey of Rochester, NH; four grandchildren; Elizabeth Earle, Mason Obrey, Dylan Obrey and Jackson Obrey; two step-grandchildren; Cathi Lang and Fred Earle, Jr.; her sister Joan Madden and her husband Lyle of Port Orange, FL; several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Bernard’s Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. The Very Rev. Daniel O. Lamothe, pastor will be the celebrant. Family and friends are invited to call at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene on Monday, August 1, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to HPH Hospice Foundation Donation Department, 12107 Majestic Blvd, Hudson, FL 34667-2455 or to Gulfside Regional Hospice, 6117 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL 34653.
