

He was born, in Keene, on November 17, 1952, to Warren A. and Arlie M. (Case) MacKenzie .
Aside from a brief period when he lived in the Dover / Portsmouth area while working for Sanel Auto, Lee was a lifelong resident of Keene. He also worked 15 years for the City of Keene Public Works Department and most recently for the former Life Arts organization which was a special point of joy and pride for him.
Lee was an avid fan of NASCAR and local auto racing, football, and baseball. He especially loved the New England Patriots and on December 20, he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of seeing the team play at Gillette Stadium.
Locally, he was very active as a longtime coach with the area’s Special Olympics. Spending time with his siblings, his parents and his nieces and nephews also brought him great happiness.
He is survived by his parents: Warren and Arlie MacKenzie, of Polk City, FL.; his longtime partner of 24 years, Jeannine Synder of Keene; a sister: Kim Bergeron and her husband, David, also of Keene; a brother: Mark MacKenzie and his wife, Cindy, of Surry; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at 11:00 am at the United Church of Christ in Keene. Calling Hours will be held Wednesday January 6, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 at the Fletcher Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
