

Louis A. Bergeron, 93, a life-long resident of Keene, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at the Maplewood Nursing Home, in Westmoreland, New Hampshire, on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, following a brief period of declining health.
He was born in Keene, New Hampshire on August 22, 1918, the son of Charles and Lillian (Pluff) Bergeron. He was a 1936 graduate of Keene High School and went on to proudly serve his nation in the United States Navy, serving during World War II in the South Pacific. On December 2, 1988, he married his wife Ethel (Ellis) Nowak-Bergeron.
Louis was very devoted to his faith and was an active member of the Parish of the Holy Spirit, attending St. Margaret Mary Church in Keene. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He was a remarkable craftsman, who enjoyed working with wood to create beautiful pieces of art. He loved spending time with his family, especially doing things with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed being outdoors, whether playing golf or just relaxing. Louis was a long-time member of the Monadnock Squares, where he would kick up his heals on Saturday nights.
He is survived by his wife: Ethel Nowak-Bergeron of Keene, NH, three sons: Richard Bergeron and his wife Diane of Golden, CO., Steven Bergeron and his wife Nataliya of Keene, NH and Robert Bergeron and his wife Cindy of Surry, NH, two step-daughters: Kathleen Keating of Peterborough, NH and Karen Herbert of East Swanzey, NH., two step-sons: Paul Nowak and his wife Phyllis of Manchester, NH and Thomas Nowak and his wife Terri of Keene, NH., two grandchildren: Cindy Bergeron-Martel and Christina Bergeron, six step-grandchildren: Pamela Schilv, Carolyn Ellis, Julie Gelormine, Brian Nowak, Sarah Herbert, and Jared Herbert, a great-grandchild: Austin Martel, nine step-great-grandchildren, a sister: Marie Drogue of Sturbridge, MA., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by three brothers: Charles Bergeron, Paul Bergeron, and Donald Bergeron, and two sisters: Evelyn Metevier and Marion Bent.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church on Arch Street in Keene, NH., on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 11:30am. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private.
