Margaret was born to Alessandro and Mary (Infusino) Grossi, June 12, 1936, in Keene. Raised and educated locally, Mrs. Freihofer was a member of the Keene High School graduating class of 1954.
Margaret was employed locally at the National Grange Insurance Company and New Hope New Horizon as an assistant. She would later work as a Loan Officer at MPB Credit Union for 17 years prior to her retirement.
Family was paramount to Margaret, always bringing the family together for meals and hosting holidays, with Easter being her favorite time to gather with those she loved the most. Above all, she was a caregiver, dedicated to her parents, husband, and children. She kept a close relationship with her mother, talking at least twice a day with her, and having Sunday dinners with her parents weekly.
Margaret will be greatly missed by her two sons, Charles A. “Chuck” Freihofer and his wife Teresa of Fredericksburg, Virgina; and David B. Freihofer of Clearwater, Florida; her five grandchildren, Charles Anthony Freihofer, Victoria Mieko McLean, Cody Alexander Freihofer, Dolan Louis Freihofer and Devan Mary Freihofer; her three great grandchildren, Abigail McLean, Lydia McLean, and Caelyn Freihofer; her brother John Grossi and his wife Jean of Keene. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Charles Frederick Freihofer, her brother Robert Grossi, and her sister-in-law Shirley Grossi.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court St. Keene. A funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lower Main Street, Keene.
