

Patricia Bestick McClure Peets, 79, of Keene and Leesburg, FL, formerly of S. Portland, ME, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at the Cheshire Medical Center / Dartmouth Hitchcock – Keene, peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a brief period of declining health.
She was born, in Quincy Massachusetts, on March 10, 1934, to LeRoy C and Gertrude R (Ross) Bestick. She was a 1951 graduate of Keene High School. She belonged to the All-Girls Drum and Bugle Corp.
She married Thomas A. McClure Jr., in October, 1955, and they lived in Sullivan N.H. for many years. There, she was a 4-H Leader, Sunday School teacher, held office in the PTA, Volunteered for the Heart Foundation, was a member and office holder of Monadnock Camping Chapter #66, and she also played Aunt Til in the Old Homestead for 10 years before moving to Maine in 1972.
While in Maine, she worked for Atex Hobby Products in Direct Sales for over 25 years as Zone Vice President for all of New England. She was also Superintendent for Sunday School and Church Clerk in Scarborough, Me.
She was also an avid dancer all of her life, but clogging became her first love in later years, dancing with the Casco Bay Cloggers where she was Treasurer. Also she held office in the Round Squares Dance Club of Maine, and was Housing Chairwoman in 86/87 for the New England Square Dance Convention.
She retired from sales and went back to school, graduating from the American Career Travel School, to become a Travel Consultant. She moved from Maine in 1991 with her husband to Leesburg, Fl. She worked for and later retired from Walt Disney World as a Travel Consultant and Vacation Club Sales Associate.
She was widowed in 1998 when her husband of 43 years, Thomas A. McClure, Jr. died.
In 1999 she was reunited with Lionel G. Peets, and later they married. Together they held residences in both N.H. and FL.
She belonged to St. Paul’s Catholic Church, sang in the choir, belonged to Quilting Sisters Guild, and spent many hours at the club house with her friends playing games and swimming at the pool.
She had many hobbies: dancing, traveling, sewing, needlepoint, but most of all she loved to quilt.
She leaves behind her loving husband: Lionel G. Peets; a daughter: Cathleen McClure Haynie of Leesburg, Fl.; a step son: David Peets and his wife Carrie of Swanzey N.H.; a son in law: Robert Bachelder Jr. of Portland Me. and a step daughter: Karen Morse of Turners Falls, Ma.; her 8 beloved grandchildren: Jennifer, Carrie, Jami, Courtney, Allison , Andrew, Elizabeth, and Kari; 12 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; as well as many Nieces and Nephews.
She was predeceased by her father: LeRoy C. Bestick; mother: Gertrude R. Ross; a brother: Irving Bestick; her former husband: Thomas A. McClure Jr.; a daughter Bonnie J Bachelder; and grandson: Robert Bachelder.
A Liturgy of the Word will be held Friday, January 24, at 12 noon at the Fletcher Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 am until Noon. Burial will follow the service at Monadnock View Cemetery in Keene.
