
He was born in Troy, NH on April 15, 1924 the son of Charles and Delia (Boise) Rocheleau.
He grew up and attended local schools in Troy. He moved to Keene in 1941 where he spent most of his life. He was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at the former Elliot Community Hospital, the Cheshire Medical Center and served as a head nurse at several local nursing homes including the former Monadnock Nursing Home, the Maplewood Nursing Home, Applewood Nursing Home and Genesis Eldercare and Rehabilitation Center. He also was employed by Troy Mills for several years. He loved to read in his spare time.
He was a man of faith and was a member of the Parish of the Holy Spirit where he attended daily mass at St. Bernard’s Church in Keene.
He is survived by two daughters; Cecilia Smith of Richmond, NH and Lori Blake of Winter Springs, FL; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Two sons, Dennis Rocheleau and Joseph Rocheleau, four brothers; William Rocheleau, Emile Rocheleau, Edgar Rocheleau and Denzil “Pete” Rocheleau and his sister Pauline Williams all died earlier.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Bernard’s Church, 185 Main Street, Keene on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. Msgr. Daniel O. Lamothe will be the celebrant. Following cremation, burial will be in the family lot at St. Joseph Cemetery. There are no public visiting hours.
The Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene is assisting the family with these arrangements.
