His parents, Thomas K. and Lillian (Perritt) Quinn welcomed their son into the world on June 15, 1926 in Winchendon, Massachusetts.
Raymond was a Navy veteran, and along with his six brothers, served during World War II.
Raymond worked for over 30 years on the production line with General Motors in Framingham, Mass.
He was an accomplished dancer and enjoyed the music of the big band era. He loved the ocean; “his desserts”; and spending his winters in Venice Beach, Florida with his wife, Evelyn. He also enjoyed watching Evelyn’s sons, Daniel and David playing in their many softball games. He was fondly known as the “Sherriff of River Road”. Be it truly known however, Raymond’s favorite hobby was looking after his wife.
He will be greatly missed by many, especially his wife of 27 years, Evelyn (Fuller) Quinn Shelley of Keene, and her children, Daniel H. Shelley and his wife, Gail of Westmoreland, and David N. Shelley and his wife, Brenda, of Westmoreland; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his first wife, Eleanor (Lynch) Quinn in 1990; his six brothers, Matthew, Thomas, Willis, Howard, Robert and Donald; and a sister, Dorcus Quinn who died at four years of age.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 12th at 10:30AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial with committal prayers will be at 1:00PM in the East Westmoreland Cemetery, Route 12, Westmoreland.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made in Mr. Quinn’s memory to the Community Kitchen, PO Box 1315, Keene, NH 03431; or to the Hundred Nights Inc., PO Box 833, Keene, NH 03431.
