He was born on August 27, 1938, in Keene, to Dr. George R. and Augusta Verda (Ebert) Eades. After High School, Doc moved west to Southern California and attended the University of California, Los Angeles, and worked for a local machine shop. From an early age motorcycles harnessed his soul. He enjoyed riding long distances, in any weather, and did frequently. Doc was proud to be the First Member, and a Lifetime Member, of the Monadnock Region Harley Owners Group Chapter #1861.
While following the New England Patriots closely, Doc, however, was always a loyal fan of the Oakland Raiders, dating back to his West Coast experience.
A rebel soul, Doc lived his life on his terms and his rules until his end. Often misunderstood, one thing Doc made clear was the importance he placed on those friends he kept in touch with from coast to coast.
Over the years he owned many rare classic and custom cars.
He down played that he attended Valley Forge Military Academy, his graduation from UCLA as well as being a base baritone, singing opera with Fritz
Wunderlich during the early 60s.
Known as a savvy investor, Doc traded stocks frequently in those days which would later be called ‘Day Trading’ and continued to practice his investment strategies over the years. He was involved in many social and financial forums and enjoyed the banter they presented.
Over the past few decades he spent winters at his home in Daytona Beach, Florida but was never far from his keyboard and his cyber pals.
He is survived by his girlfriend: Philomena Collins, his two dogs, Wolfie and Tuffy, and many close friends from coast to coast.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2015, from 3:00-6:00 PM at McCue’s Billiards in Keene. Calling Hours will be held at the Fletcher Funeral Home, on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 12:00 until 3:00. Burial will take place in the spring in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery in Fitzwilliam.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial donations could be made, in Doc Eades name, to your local Humane Society.
Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services (www.fletcherfuneralhome.com ), 33 Marlboro St, Keene, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
