

He was born in Keene, on November 11, 1965, the son of Myron and Judith (Wood) Wheeler, and grew up in Sullivan, attending area schools. He was a lifelong area resident.
He had previously worked for Port-O-Lite, in West Swanzey.
He was a kind and helpful person with the heart of a jokester, always ready to play a prank on friends and family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the outdoors. Summer was a favorite as he could watch his favorite baseball team, the Yankees, play as well as follow his favorite NASCAR drivers. He loved being able to watch the races up in Loudon. He loved his Coon cat Rascal. Rodney would grow out his hair and when he got it cut he would donate it to Locks of Love.
He is survived by his longtime companion: Patricia Rokes Hooper of Swanzey, his mother: Judith Wheeler of Winchester; 3 daughters: Marie Lantz of Arkansas, Heather Wheeler of Keene and Shanna Piermarini of Keene; his sister: Lisa Montgomery and her fiancé Todd Buckley of Swanzey; a brother: Frank Wheeler and his wife Lisa of Ashuelot; his Grandmother: Ethel Wood of Keene; as well as several Nephews and Nieces. He also had several Great Nephews and Great Nieces.
There will be a memorial service, at the Fletcher Funeral Home, on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 10:00 AM. At the request of the family, there will be no public calling hours. Burial will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester.
