She was born in Keene, NH, on November 18, 1942, daughter of the late Robert Henry and Rosamond Theresa (Duquette) Des Jardins. Shay went on to attend local schools and later went on to work for Goodyear until she moved to New Ipswich, NH, over 40 years ago.
There she found “home” in her local church and she embraced her faith in God, the Bible, and socializing with her church family.
Shay always expressed a devoted and altruistic love and protection for her family – always providing and caring for them. She always welcomed everyone with a hug as she never met a stranger. She was able to see the best in everyone.
She had many enjoyments including snowmobiling, family gatherings, and cookouts. She loved gardening, shopping, being with family and friends, country music, and had a penchant for sitting on her patio to watch the various birds and animals with her beloved Shiloh at her feet. She and Shiloh shared many long and memorable walks.
One of Shay’s greatest loves was taking her niece Kasi on the weekends and special occasions since her birth. Kasi was like a daughter to Shay, and she would proudly introduce her to everyone they met. Many great memories were made over the years that Kasi will always keep close to her heart.
Shay held an unmatched wittiness and a wonderful sense of humor. “God’s little teddy bear” loved to make people laugh.
She will be deeply missed by so many that she loved, including her siblings, Calvin “Mike” Des Jardins his son Andrew and wife, Lisa. Timothy Des Jardins and wife Jody, and his son, Christian and wife, Randi. Debbie Des Jardins (Miller) and her son Canaan. The children of predeceased brother Gerry Des Jardins, daughter, Donna Winiewicz And her husband, Tony, son Doug Dosenberg and his wife Melissa. Along with many nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends that she touched with her great love for them.
A memorial and celebration of Shay’s life will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Jaffrey Bible Church, 133 Turnpike Road, Jaffrey, NH. In honor of Shay, please wear yellow if you are able.
