His parents, Thomas L. and Elizabeth (Alimandi) Roy, welcomed their son into the world on November 4, 1942 in Miami, FL. Thomas grew up in Berlin, NH and was a 1960 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Berlin.
He went on to trade school where he was quickly recognized for his great skills as a machinist. It was these skills that brought him to Keene in 1964 to work as a machinist with the former Kingsbury Corporation in Keene, for 42 years. Over the course of his time with Kingsbury’s, Thomas earned many accolades and was well respected by his peers for his talents as a machinist.
Thomas was a great lover of the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He also had a great fondness for animals and always had a bag of treats in his pocket to share with his four-legged friends. His perfect day would center on having a good cup of coffee with his friends, especially his friend, Tom; watching TV; or playing a game of cribbage, a game that he was very competitive at. He was also a skilled pool player, winning several tournaments. His passion in life was being with everyone he loved, especially his family.
He was a longtime parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Keene; and a member of the Keene Moose Club and the Keene Elks Club.
He will be greatly missed by many, especially his three daughters, Kathleen Richards and her husband, David of Keene, Joelle Eldredge of Nashua, NH, Heather Eakin, of Keene; four grandchildren, Eddie Eldredge, III, Alexandru Richards, Tommy Eldredge, Emily Anne Eakin; his brothers and sisters, Robert Roy and his wife, Helen, Sharon Letarte and her husband, Richard, Louise Corrigan and her husband, Mike, and Elaine Moreau and her husband, Roland, all of Berlin; his son-in-law, Edgar Eldredge, II, of Nashua; his soulmate, Patricia Forsyth, of Swanzey, NH; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Roy; a sister, Janet Demers; and a brother-in-law, Fred Demers.
