Victor Dominic Dintino, age 88, of Keene, passed away on November 10, 2025, at home surrounded by loving family, and at the very end, in the wee hours of the morning, with the comfort of his devoted wife, Nancy.
Vic was born in Keene on July 13, 1937, the youngest of four children, to Fiore Dintino and Annie Candello Dintino. He grew up on Butler Court, a vibrant neighborhood of mostly Italians, and attended St. Joseph’s School. Vic was a graduate of Keene High School, class of 1955. He happily married Nancy Jane Ball on July 27, 1957, and they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this past summer.
Vic worked at MPB (Timken) for over 40 years, a position he enjoyed, to a great extent, because of the people. He was a longtime member of the William Marconi Italian Society and the Knights of Columbus Council 819 and a communicant of St. Bernard’s Church.
If you knew Vic, you were loved. His “the door is always open” motto made for boisterous kitchen, deck, and backyard gatherings under the maple tree. He especially cherished Sunday dinners, as did everyone. He made you feel like you were the most important person in the world, and to him, you were. Vic was an amazing gardener – for which he credited his father- and an amazing cook – for which he credited his mother. If he wasn’t offering you goods from his thriving garden, he was offering you a glass of homemade wine, or most likely, both and more! Most days at ‘The Ranch’, as the Hooper Street homestead came to be known, were as warm and festive as a holiday. Vic was a bright light of love, and for that, he was loved exponentially and will be forever.
You rarely saw Vic without a baseball cap. (And cheering for the Yankees!) He wore them well, and friends and family gifted him caps from all over the world. He was incredibly curious and intelligent, a lifelong learner, especially interested in the cosmos and good ol’ maps, which were always at his side. If you mentioned a place he wasn’t too familiar with, the maps came out. Then everyone at the table enjoyed an expedition!
Vic is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his six children, Cecilia (Joseph), Laura, Maria (Martin), Theresa (Jonathan), Carmine, and David (Sherry); thirteen grandchildren, Annie (Alex), Mia (Julian), Amelia (Louie), Chelsea (Hayden), Dominic, Alexander, Sarah (Chandler), Keegan, Joseph, Star, Frances, Vincent, and Bernardo; six great-grandchildren, Myah, Jaxson, Ryder, Maeve, Koa and Emma, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and oodles of dear friends. His siblings, brother Carmine Dintino and sisters Caroline Dintino and Lucia Fontaine, predeceased him.
It's important to note that his son, Carmine, made it possible to honor Dad’s wish of dying at home. For that, we are very grateful.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:30am in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene.
