Wayne Howard Michelson

Wayne was the son of the late Lamoa and Saimi Michelson, attended local schools, and was a lifelong resident of Fitzwilliam.

As a young man, he served honorably as an infantryman in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Following his service, Wayne worked at the Davey Tree Company based in Spencer, Massachusetts and was a skilled arborist. Wayne was never in short supply of stories about his time with friends at Davey and in uniform with the Army. After a period at Troy Mills in Troy NH, Wayne had a 30+ year career with the LS Starrett Company from which he retired.

Wayne loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman since he was old enough to walk. Outside of fishing and hunting season, Wayne enjoyed family vacations, reading, gardening, karaoke, and watching classic movies. Above all, a simple coffee and drive through the countryside with friends or family was one of his favorite things to do. He was a member of the Boone and Crocket Club, National Wild Turkey Federation, and a strong advocate of ethical sportsmanship.

Wayne was predeceased by his loving wife Elaine Michelson who he loved dearly. They had three children Ann Michelson of Jaffrey, NH, Veronica Young of Stafford, Virginia and Ben Michelson of Chantilly, Virginia. He is also predeceased by his sister Mary Goodnow, and his sister Dianna Michelson, his brother Walter Michelson. He is survived by his other brother Carl Michelson of Fitzwilliam, NH and sister Priscilla Rosin of Indian Trail, North Carolina. Wayne has four grandchildren, Nolan Michelson, Damion Hailey, Ethan Young, and Cameron Young and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00AM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH. Burial with committal prayers and military honors will follow the service in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Royalston Road, Fitzwilliam.
