One of Van Halen’s biggest fans, Donna Jane Thompson Plowman, affectionately known as “Janie,” passed away on December 11, 2025, at the age of 74, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Among her business colleagues, clients, and friends outside the family, she was known as “Donna,” a distinction that sometimes left family members momentarily puzzled as to whom others were referring. To those who loved her most, she was simply Aunt Janie.
Donna made her home in Hutto, Texas, where she was cherished by an army of loyal and loving friends who adored her deeply.
A strong and determined woman, Donna built a life defined by independence and hard work. She proudly owned and operated her own security company, earning the respect and trust of colleagues and clients throughout the years. Her leadership, dedication, and no-nonsense spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Donna will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, and the way she made others feel safe, valued, and cared for.
She was born on January 21, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, to John Duncan Thompson and Mayme Huff Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry Plowman.
She is survived by her sister, Janna Thompson Livingston; her children, Lexa Baker and O.Z. Lemens; her grandchildren, Disney Oliver, Jacob Baker, Bane Baker, Alyssa Woods, Kaylee Lemens, and Ozzie Lemens; and her great-grandchildren, Preston Woods, Parker Woods, and Porter Woods.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home, located at 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, Texas 76248.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
