Nova Albers, of Keller, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026. She was a loving and cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, cousin, and friend. She will always be remembered for her loving heart, her unwavering compassion, and her fierce devotion to her family and friends. Nova was born on December 28, 1970, in Dallas, TX to Roy O’Neal Hefflin and Robbie Lynn Dyett Hefflin. She grew up in Mesquite, Texas where she graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1989. She attended The University of Texas at Arlington where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Nova met the love of her life, Dale Kevin, when she was 17 years old. They were married on March 17, 1990, built a life together, and welcomed their two children DeSheia and Tyler in the years that followed. She passionately loved her children, and they were her pride and her greatest joy.
Nova was a born leader and a natural mentor. She had a successful career as Human Resource executive where she climbed the corporate ladder, created policies and programs for corporations that are still used to this day, and impacted and influenced the lives of many. She was incredibly proud of her career, and she continued to work even as she battled cancer. Nova successfully balanced her career with family. Her success as a business professional never compromised her dedication to her children and family. She supported DeSheia and Tyler in everything they did and was always present on the sidelines. She was a team mom, a cheerleader, a voice, an advocate, a spokesperson, a shoulder to cry on, and a steadfast rock. She was the foundation and the glue that held everyone together. Nova did not mince words and those that knew her best loved her for it and expected nothing less from her.
Nova was a proud and loving Aunt who cherished her nieces and nephews. Aunt Nova was one of her favorite titles and her nieces and nephews loved her deeply in return. She also greatly loved her generations of cousins who also referred to her as their Aunt Nova.
Of all the titles she proudly held, the one that filled her heart the most was Gigi. Her granddaughter, Navy Ray, melted her heart, made her smile every day, and gave her a reason to continue to fight for the past two years.
Nova is survived by her father Roy Hefflin; her mother Robbie Hefflin; her husband Dale Kevin Albers; her daughter DeSheia Albers; her son Tyler Albers and granddaughter Navy Albers; sister Casey DuPont, husband Matthew, nephew Levi and niece Avery; mother-in-law Katherine Albers; sister-in-law Rhonda Albers, niece Rachel; brother-in-law Craig Albers, wife Amy, nephews and niece David, Madelyn, and Steven; and her many cousins and Aunts and Uncles. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, O’Jean Doiron, and Ester Hefflin; mother-in-law Sharon Cowdry; father-in-law Ron Albers; grandson Thomas Dale “Bean” Albers; and her beloved Aunts Janie, Debbie and Junior.
