Sarah is survived by her husband- Alistair, Son – Daniel, Daughter – Alison, Daughter-in-Law – Marialta, Son-in-Law- Shane and two beautiful grandchildren – Dorothy and Alistair.
Sarah more commonly known as Sadie was born in Glasgow, Scotland on the 15th of August 1941 at 1.40 PM to James and Margaret Curran. She was one of 9 children including her twin brother.
Sadie and Alistair met at Denistoun Palais which was a dance hall in 1961 and that was the start to a 64-year romance. The courtship lasted for 3 years and Sadie and Alistair became husband and wife on the 16th of October 1964.
In 1967 Sadie and Alistair immigrated to South Africa. Sadie always said Alistair took her there on their honeymoon and 55 years later they were still there.
In 1968 they were blessed with their first child Daniel Mitchell McQuillan, followed by a daughter, Alison (McQuillan) Tiquin in 1973.
Life in South Africa started out in Witbank, where they lived for 6 years. Then they moved to Johannesburg and later to Cape Town until immigrating to Texas in 2022.
Sadie was always the life at a party, she loved to dance and was never without her vodka and sprite. Her family were everything to her and she was the best wife, mother and gran a person could ever be. If you knew her, you became her family.
Nothing was ever too big an ask for Sadie, if she could help you in anyway, she would, even if it meant giving you her last penny or the clothes off her back. She was the best friend anyone could ask for, compassionate and so kind.
To know her was to LOVE her.
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but LOVE leaves a memory no one can steal”
