OBITUARY

Travis Robert Pierce

15 June, 1986 – 11 February, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

Keller's Old Town Funeral Home & Cremation Service

Travis Robert Pierce was born on June 15, 1986, to Dennis and Lori (Lance) in Lincoln, Nebraska. When Travis was nine, his family moved to Minnesota, where they lived for four years before settling in North Texas. He attended the Keller Independent School District in Keller, Texas, graduating in 2004. Travis earned an Associate’s Degree from Tarrant County College before further studies at the University of Texas in Arlington and the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. In 2008, Travis became a Train Dispatcher at BNSF Railway where he was employed for over sixteen years. Travis was also a proud union member of the American Train Dispatcher’s Association.

Travis was a kind and sweet son, brother, husband, and uncle to a family that misses him dearly. Travis was devoted to his wife Lisa. His smile always lit up the room, and even while he struggled with depression, Travis still gave everything he could and more to the people he cared about. Music was his passion – starting as a teenager, he played in countless bands and was always working on a new project and inspiring others to create. Travis traveled the country playing and attending shows, and everyone who was lucky enough to meet him along the way will remember his smile, his laugh, and how genuine of a person and a friend he was. He was a wonderful and compassionate person who worked tirelessly and was loved dearly by his family, friends, and coworkers.

Travis passed away on February 11, 2025 in Arlington, Texas at the age of 38. He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Bird) of Arlington, Texas; his parents, Dennis and Lori (Lance) Pierce of Keller, Texas; brother, Matt and wife Leslie Pierce of Oak Park, Illinois; sister Tessa and husband Patrick Aubry of Loveland, Colorado; father and mother in law, David and Joyce Bird of Fort Worth, Texas; and nieces and nephews, Alfred Pierce, Ashley Huston, Makayla Vick, Kiyah Bird, Siena Bird, Raine Bird, Kehlani Huston, Christian Hartman, Cameron Hartman and Jonah Mitchell. Travis was also cherished by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, Travis’s family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Riley Gale Foundation or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
