Addilyn was born on the morning of February 4, 2021, during the Covid 19 pandemic. Hannah and Ryan planned for their second daughter to be born at a birthing centre near Kelowna General Hospital, however, Addilyn had other plans, and after two pushes she popped into the bath at home with her strawberry blonde hair. Her Mummy scooped her out of the bath to stimulate her and get her to cry. Daddy also tried to stimulate her, but in the end, just like her big sister, she never cried. Alexia awoke to find her Mummy, Daddy, and her newly arrived baby sister. Alexia was so surprised!
Addilyn’s birth was a joyful occasion. Ryan and Hannah adored little Addilyn, and Alexia loved to show off her little sister to all the visitors who arrived at their home. The Booth family were absolutely delighted with her arrival. And she was a beautiful ray of sunshine so needed by the Radomske family as Addi’s great grandfather, Del Radomske, had died less than four weeks earlier. Very quickly Addi became Daddy’s little girl and wanted Ryan for everything. Addi didn’t even like sharing Ryan with Hannah. One time Hannah was cuddling Ryan and Addi put her hand in Hannah’s face and pushed her away saying “no”. Only Addi could cuddle with Daddy! And when Addi showed this attitude, Hannah called Addi “her little drama llama”!
Watching Addi grow brought smiles to everyone’s faces and she was generous with her “mmwaa” kisses. She greeted everyone at the door with “Hi, Hi, Hi” then gave big hugs and blew kisses goodbye and said “Bye, Bye, Bye”. She was a quiet, sweet, smiley, mischievous little monkey who was a diehard Canucks fan and loved to eat. In fact she loved eating so much she would climb into her high chair making “num, num, num” sounds. Addi would sit calmly in her chair for ages and was frequently found feeding Hershey or any other dog from her tray. Sometimes, if her hands were too mucky from giving herself a yogurt face mask, she would hold her arms out and eat directly from the tray with her face, all the while making nummy sounds. One day Hannah spotted Addi sitting in a chair rocking back and forth with a giant Costco bag of craisins between her legs, happily eating. Popcorn had to be Addi’s all time favourite food. Ryan and Hannah couldn’t make soft popcorn balls fast enough for her, and eventually she stopped waiting and began grabbing and eating fistfuls of popcorn. And when that wasn’t fast enough, she would bury her face into the entire bowl of popcorn.
Addilyn loved and adored her big sister Alexia and Alexia found she had a friend in Addi. They played, danced, coloured, napped, and adventured together. And together they loved having sleepovers with Grandma and Grandad or with Nanny. Grandma always sang “Over the Rainbow'' to put Addi to sleep and Nanny’s beads were so much fun to play with! These girls shared a special sister bond, with each closely watching the other, but for different reasons. Alexia was the consummate big sister keeping Addi safe, out of trouble, and entertained. Addi, on the other hand, just wanted to copy everything her sister did. The day she started walking, Addi was determined to catch her sister and keep up. When they picked up Alexia after school, Addi would run around the school yard and play on the slides, swings, and climbing structures. The two girls would greet each other with hugs and kisses showing how much the two loved and missed each other during the day.
Ryan, Hannah, Alexia, and Addilyn made their first family trip to Edmonton in summer 2022 where Addi discovered elevators and waterslides. They rode elevators in the hotel and at West Edmonton Mall. Previously Addi had not enjoyed her swimming experiences, but the waterslides and swimming pool at West Edmonton Mall won her over. And of course, they ate popcorn on the trip as well! Fun was had by all!
Addi was so loved by her big family and we will miss our littlest sweetheart forever. “There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will be in my heart.” - Gandhi
