May 11, 1951 – January 29, 2020
It is with sad hearts we announce the untimely passing of our father, friend, and an all-around good man, at the age of 68.
He is survived by his two sons, Brett (Jodie & grandsons Quinton, Waylon), and Glenn of Calgary. He is also survived by his older brother Joe, of Montreal.
He leaves behind his loving companion Jo-Ann Reid.
Chris was born in Alliston, Ontario. As a young man, he pursued post-secondary studies and ultimately graduated from Dalhousie University Law School in Halifax in 1979. He decided to relocate to BC and in September 1980 was called to the British Columbia Bar. Kelowna became his home nearly 40 years ago and for much of his career he practiced law with the Legal Services Society. Latterly he moved to private practice as a sole practitioner dealing primarily with real property matters. Chris’s work was always characterized by his kind and gentle disposition, irreproachable honesty and scrupulous attention to detail.
Chris was an avid and passionate runner and was a member of the Kelowna Running Club. His love of exercise was also reflected in his participation in the Kelowna Masters Swim Club and local cycling groups. In these communities he found many friends who, like Chris, loved the challenge and competition of fitness sports.
Chris will be truly missed by his family and friends. A time for friends to visit with his family will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 between 10:00 am – 12:00 noon in the Tea Room at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.firstmemorialfuneralkelowna.com Arrangements entrusted to First Memorial Funeral Services, 250-762-2299.
