It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dale Zacharias. Although his battle was long and courageously fought, his passing came swiftly on July 11, 2026, in Red Deer, Alberta, at the age of 63.
Dale will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Trina Zacharias; his daughter, Jenna Andrews, and granddaughter, Aliyah; his mother, Mirvina Zacharias; his sisters, Lyla Cambridge and Fay Kroeker; his brother in law, Gerry Kroeker; and his large extended family, including many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his family, Dale leaves behind many cherished friends, mentors, and colleagues whose lives were enriched by knowing him and who will deeply feel his absence.
Throughout his life, Dale pursued many passions. He had a deep love for music and guitar, and found great joy in fishing, off-roading, billiards, landscaping, and collecting. He was endlessly curious and valued knowledge, never passing up the opportunity for a thoughtful one on one discussion or spirited debate. Whether the topic was religion, politics, history, or life’s many philosophies, Dale enjoyed exploring ideas and sharing his perspectives. His Christian faith remained an important part of his life and helped shape his convictions and values. He appreciated life’s quieter moments and was most content at home, often found sitting outdoors on the porch, taking in the beauty of nature and watching the wildlife around him.
Born in Saskatchewan, Dale made his way to the Thompson Okanagan at a young age and eventually settled in Kelowna, British Columbia. There he built his life, married, raised his family, established his career, and enjoyed retirement. Although he relocated to Lacombe, Alberta, a few years ago, Kelowna always remained home in many ways. It is there that Dale will be laid to rest, surrounded by family, friends, and the community that was such an important part of his life.
A Graveside Service celebrating Dale’s life will be held at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday, August 6th, 2026 at 11:30 AM

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the hospitals in Red Deer and Lacombe, as well as the many specialists, nurses, physicians, and home care professionals who provided compassionate care and unwavering support throughout Dale’s journey. Your dedication and kindness will never be forgotten.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in the memories we shared, the lessons he taught us, and the love he leaves behind. Until we meet again.
