Our precious mother, Diana Hoodikoff, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2022, at the age of 95, at Lake Country Lodge, Lake Country, BC with her family by her side.
Diana was born in Arran, Saskatchewan on March 21, 1927 to parents Koozma and Nellie Kinakin. She later moved to Benito, Manitoba with her family. Diana had 8 other siblings. She left Manitoba at age 17 to go to British Columbia to work in the Okanagan and there she met her husband to be, John Hoodikoff. They fell in love and were married in 1947. After working in the Okanagan for a while, Diana and John moved to Midway, where John worked at the local sawmill until his passing at the young age of 53 due to illness. They had four children - Karen Barroca (Salmon Arm), Sharen Pereversoff (Castlegar), Don Hoodikoff (New Westminster), Janet Prichard (Deceased). Diana returned to the Okanagan and started a new life in Winfield (now Lake Country).
Diana was a faithful member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in both Winfield for 20 years and later Rutland where she lived for 17 years. Diana's Christian faith was an essential part of her life. She loved her Lord and would tell others about His Love. Diana enjoyed her life and visits from her children who came often. She was loved dearly by her children and to them was the best mom ever. She was loving, caring and always had a smile for everyone. Our mother's love will be carried in our hearts forever.
In respecting Diana's wishes, there will be no formal service. A private, family interment of ashes will be held later.
The family would like thank everyone for their caring, support, prayers and condolences. Friends wishing to honor Diana are invited to make a donation in her name to the Kelowna Gospel Mission or ADRA Canada.
