

It is with sad and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Doug Thompson on April 16, 2016 at the age of 68 years.
Doug was born in Kelowna May 7, 1947 and never left the Okanagan. Doug’s great love of the outdoors began as a boy growing up in the North End, with the Okanagan Lake and Knox Mountain as his playground.
He played hockey and baseball and played fastball all his adult life well into his late 40’s. Doug was an avid pool player and continued up to a few years ago. Doug was well known for his love of fishing and hunting and continued these activities up until the fall of last year.
Doug is survived by his 4 children, daughters, Jodi Thompson (Rocky Mtn House, AB), Terri Thompson (Peace River, AB), son Jesse Thompson (Surrey, BC) and his youngest daughter Sarah Thompson (Kelowna, BC), his two grandsons, Jesse Ribalkin and Trey Thompson (Kelowna, BC). Brother Rick Thompson and favorite sister Heather Thompson, & his estranged wife Sheila Thompson. Nieces, Allison Thompson, Lana Sukoviev (Scotty), Christie Parke, Brandi Parke (Shawn) and nephew Colin Thompson. Cousins, Moira Thomson, Honora Cooper (Lucas) Bruce, Don and Jim Thompson and many friends, fishing buddies and kids that he took under his wing.
Please come and join us for a celebration of Doug’s life at the Parkinson Rec Centre in the McIntosh Room at 10:30 am Saturday April 23, 2016.
