It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend, Fiona Francis Ivans (née Veitch), who passed away peacefully at KGH on July 29, 2026, at the age of 86.
Fiona was born on April 14, 1940, in Lestock, Saskatchewan, and was raised in White Lake, British Columbia. In her early years, she worked for BC Tel and the Bank of Commerce and also spent time helping in the orchard.
In 1963, Fiona married the love of her life, Paul Ivans, beginning a marriage that would span 63 wonderful years. Together, they built their home in Glenmore, where Fiona and Paul lived for 63 years while raising their two sons, Scott and Greg. That home became the heart of their family and a place filled with countless memories.
Fiona found joy in the simple things in life. She enjoyed doing Tai Chi, working on jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles, and spending time with her beloved many cats. She and Paul also enjoyed many memorable trips to Hawaii and Mexico over the years.
Fiona will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 63 years, Paul Ivans; her son, Scott Ivans; daughter-in-law, Jacky Ivans; and grandchildren, Max and Tessa Ivans. She is also survived by her sisters, Maxine Dobson and Mary Pakka, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Fiona was predeceased by her beloved son, Greg Ivans, her sister Eileen and brother Dean.
She leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, and a family who will carry her with them always. She will be remembered for the life she built with Paul, her devotion to her family, and the many simple pleasures that brought her happiness.
No service will be held by request.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC SPCA in Kelowna in Fiona’s memory.
She will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered.
