She is survived by the people who loved her the most her 3 daughters Shannon, Shelley Tokash (Dwayne) and Carrie Holtskog (Greg), Her granddaughter Tawny Tokash (Seth), and her best friends Brenda Holtskog and Diane.
Mom was the daughter of Norris and Rose Fisher (nee Bellerose), hard-working farmers from Lestock, Saskatchewan.
At 79 years, mom was incredibly young at heart. Some days she would smile and say, "I feel like I’m 39," playfully upping her age as the years went by. Mom had an exceptionally strong work ethic; she never ceased to amaze us. Our mom always enjoyed music, dancing and her laughter was contagious. Mom was an amazing hairdresser for many years. She then started working with my dad for their business Prairie Landscaping Supplies Ltd.
Mom was an integral part of the business, managing their yard on Winnipeg Street in Regina. She learned how to operate the bobcat, and she would load material into customers pickup trucks. Mom also learned to drive a gravel truck. Mom was unstoppable.
Our mom taught all of her girls to work hard, and to stand up for yourself when needed. We thank you mom for being such a strong, powerful presence in our lives. You were taken from us far too soon, and we were not ready to let you go. We will move forward with a hole in our hearts and souls, but your strength lives on in us.
We love you, Mom.
There will be no funeral service, but in request of the family, please raise your glass, and have a ting, ting. - Don’t forget the eye contact.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation in her memory.
