Ian lived life at full throttle. Scrappy, hardworking, and fiercely independent, he approached every day as if it might be his last. He had a need for speed and a passion for anything with a motor, always finding joy behind the wheel of an old truck, or handlebars of a machine.
While he loved excitement, he had an equally soft spot for animals. Horses, dogs, and cats held a special place in his heart, and he showed them the same love and care that he showed the people in his life.
Above all else, he loved being a partner, dad and grandpa. He was “the fun parent”, the one who encouraged adventure, laughter, and making memories. He wasn’t one to give lengthy lectures or tell people how to live their lives. When asked for advice, his usual response was, “Do what you want, you will anyways.” It was a phrase that perfectly captured his straightforward nature and trust in those he loved.
Ian is survived by his children, Chad and Alana Goldney, his grandchildren, Eleanor Goldney, Lola, Bradley and Roxy Frederick, his partner, Jodie Hammond and her children Austin, Dillon and Bobbie-Jo. He also left behind his brother and sister Brent and Helen, as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him deeply.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that he lived life exactly the way he wanted—fully, boldly, and without regrets. His stories, laughter, and unforgettable personality will remain with us always.
Forever loved, forever remembered, forever living life in the fast lane."
