We say goodbye to our beloved Mom and Oma with tears and heavy hearts, but we are comforted knowing she has been reunited with the love of her life, Heino Castorf.
Inge is survived by her daughter, Inge (Ross) Lambert; her son, Henry (Jenelle) Castorf; her grandchildren, Bobby (Clarry), Rebecca (Youssef), and Emma; and her great-granddaughter, Riley.
Inge left Germany in 1952 to follow her love, Heino, and together they built a wonderful and fruitful life in the Okanagan. They settled in Osoyoos, where they built their family home, raised their children, and worked side by side managing their orchard.
Inge was happiest outdoors, whether she was working in the orchard or tending to her beautiful flower garden. Her flowers and immaculate yard were often described as the envy of the neighbourhood. She took great joy in picking flowers and creating beautiful bouquets to share with family and friends.
Over the years, Inge formed lifelong friendships with her neighbours and their children. Although leaving her cherished home was difficult, at the age of 91 she moved to Sunshine Ridge, where she developed many new and meaningful friendships. Earlier this year, she moved to Kelowna and became part of The Vineyards Residence community so she could be closer to her family.
Inge will be remembered for her strength, independence, devotion to her family, and her remarkable ability to make everything around her grow and flourish.
Inge’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the team at The Vineyards Residence for the kindness, compassion, and wonderful care they provided during her time there.
Her beautiful garden, generous spirit, and enduring love for her family will remain in our hearts forever.
