Irene was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, William, in 2006; her parents, Jennie and Wilford; and her siblings, Amy, Mary, Doreen, Raymond, Charles, Walter, Gordon, Art, and Wilson.
Those who knew Irene will remember the quiet steadiness of her faith and the warmth of her kind and gentle heart. She found joy in simple, familiar comforts—watching curling and Blue Jays baseball, and spending time with her crosswords, reading, puzzles, and playing bridge.
Irene is survived by her sister, Elaine (Gaylerd), and numerous nieces and nephews: David, Dianne, Janice, Bruce (Eileen), Joan (Brian), and Kathy (Barry).
No service will be held, as per Irene’s wishes.
Irene will be reunited with her Bill at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kelowna, British Columbia.
