Born in Mammola, in the Italian region of Calabria on July 23, 1949, Joe peacefully passed away November 26, 2020 in Kelowna, B.C. at the age of 71. Joe was pre-deceased by his parents Salvatore and Anna Ferraro of Vancouver, B.C. Formerly of Port Coquitlam, B.C. Joe and Anne, his loving partner took up small town living in beautiful Peachland in 2018. Joe will be dearly missed by not only Anne, but by his brothers, Nick Ferraro of Maple Ridge, B.C. and Vince Ferraro (Kathleen Anderson) of White Rock, B.C., and his adoring niece Sandra Ferraro of Vancouver. He will also be missed by Anne's sons Chase of Vancouver and Tommy of Langley, whom he would have gladly called his own, along with many dear cousins and friends, namely life-long friend Steve Matthews of Sechelt B.C. Joe earned an apprenticeship in Carpentry and was involved in the construction of many high rises in and around Vancouver in the 1970's. He was also part of the crews that built Whistler Village in the late 70's. He ventured out on his own for a while specializing in outdoor decking and staircasing. The last decade of his career he was employed by the City of Maple Ridge where he held the position of Parks Inspector and then was one in the 2-man Carpentry department. He took pride in his work whether building cabinetry for the ladies in the library or re-hanging a door in city Hall. In retirement, Joe and Anne were often cruising the waters of the Caribbean and Pacific. An avid reader, Joe was always in search of a good used book store. He was a gentle, kind soul and could captivate one with his wit and charm telling a story. Forever in our hearts. No service by request.
