Joy-Leigh is survived by her husband, Rodney, and her son, Sean (Phoebe). She leaves behind her parents, Oliver and Dorothy Ashton, her brother, Todd Ashton, and his wife, Lisa. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Daryle Foster, step-sister Laurie Nordstrom and her husband, Barry, Kathy Lohr and her husband, Gordon, and Anne Frewin. Additionally, Joy-Leigh is remembered by her brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Joy-Leigh was predeceased by her sister, Tzena Foster, her niece, Amie Ashton, and her father, Alf Frewin.
A funeral service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Donalda, Alberta, on January 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial donations can be made in Joy-Leigh's honour to the Canadian Cancer Society.
