Maggie was born in Salvadore Saskatchewan where she spent her early childhood years, moving to Kelowna with her family when she was 9 years old.
Maggie entered religious life in her late teens – Mt. St. Vincent Convent Of The Sacred Heart, where she remained for 5 years.
Moving to Cranbrook BC in 1949, Maggie met Arvon Price and they married in 1951. They had 8 children.
During this time Maggie worked as a Nurses’ Aide at St. Eugene Hospital, Cranbrook Hospital and the FW Green Home, where patients were lucky to be met with her warm and caring presence.
Upon retirement in 1986, Maggie & Arvon moved to Kelowna BC (the place of her childhood) to be near family.
Maggie was a caring, loving and devoted wife and mother, whose unwavering dedication to her family and unconditional love was unparalleled. Her strong faith was not simply participation in religion, but a deep relationship with God – a rich spiritual life – a compassionate, gentle and generous way of being in the world.
Maggie was proud of her children – she and Arvon would say “so many kids and not a bad apple in the bunch.”
Over the years Maggie enjoyed car rides, fishing days, reading, listening to hymns and visits with her family. She always had stories to tell about each of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She was quick-witted – often joking and having laughs, right up until her final days.
Her kids, grandkids and great grandkids fondly remember her baking (the best cinnamon buns ever!), her back & head scratches, candy dishes and her endless prayers for all who crossed her path.
One of Maggie’s favorite sayings, “I love you - a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.” We will miss hearing this quip.
Maggie was predeceased by her husband (Arvon), her parents (Theresa & Joseph Stolb), her siblings (Luke, Jean, Margaret and Bertha).
She will be sadly missed by her Children: John (Cathy), Wayne (Cheryl), Terry (Len), Ken, Karen (Bryan), Rob (Carol), Ron (Margaret), Lorrie, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Maggie’s request is for a private service with her immediate family.
