

Mary was born in Prince Edward Island to Mary and Frank Lappin and was raised along with her siblings in a boisterous, musical house and one of her favorite things was to sing with her sisters. She sang in the Charlottetown Festival when she was in school and won many prizes. She relocated to Kelowna in 1980 and loved her longtime home.
She was a proud employee of Service Canada and served for 35 years. She loved a good long walk and was known for her laugh, love of a good competition, particularly at the card table, singing and coffee and a good chat with friends and family. She was devoted to her family and her favorite role was mother, grandmother and sister.
Mary is survived by her loving children Kristina and her husband Troy of Kelowna, Todd of Kelowna, Regina of Princeton NJ, her granddaughter Zoe. Paul MacCormac, Rosemary Prokuda, Donna MacCormac, her siblings Bobbi MacPhearson, Patsy (Joe) Murphy, Kathleen (Ron) Fava, Shannie (Danny) Serbyn, Phyllis (Brent) MacLennan, Jimmy (Gwen) Lappin, and many loved nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Kelowna in the Spring of 2026, also followed by a Celebration of Life in Charlottetown, PEI in August of 2026, more information will be posted once dates are confirmed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society in memory of Mary.
