Mary Ronca

Mary Ann Ronca, 86 years old, of Kelowna BC, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born in Hubalta (Calgary), Alberta to Karl Harrison and Rose Shapka.

Mary grew up on the small family farm before she and her sisters went to live at Lacombe home in Alberta. After high school, Mary met the love of her life, Sergio Ronca, at the Calgary Zoo. They married in Calgary, Alberta on September 29, 1959. They then were blessed with three lovely children, Luigi, Laura and Perry.

In 1973, they moved the family to Kelowna, a place that they fell in love with while holidaying for years. Sergio and Mary worked most of their lives side-by-side, owning various businesses in Kelowna.

Mary’s legacy of love lives on through her surviving family, Sergio Ronca, Luigi Ronca (Nancy), Laura Foden (David) and Perry Ronca (Teresa). They were blessed with 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sibling sisters, Doris and Julie.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Karl and Rose Harrison and her brother Harvey Harrison.

Mary’s greatest joys in life were cooking, gardening and camping, but most of all, raising her children. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations be made in honour of Mary Ronca to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Spring of 2027.
