Our mum, Mary Williams, died peacefully in her sleep the morning of January 6, 2019 in Salmon Arm, B.C. She was born in Alberta in 1925. She moved to Kelowna at age 16 with her adoptive parents and met the love of her life, Harry Williams, to whom she was happily married for 63 years. Harry predeceased her in 2011 and she missed him deeply. Mum moved to Salmon Arm in January 2018 when her health was starting to fail. She was active and able until October of 2018 when she experienced the devastating effects of dementia. Family was of most importance to mum and she loved her family unconditionally. Mum was a teacher and then chose to spend her time happily as a stay at home mum. She spent many hours sewing, playing games, going to all of our recitals and concerts, and was involved with our clubs and sports. She loved travelling to places near and far with dad and they enjoyed many good holidays in their travel trailer. She was a member of the Wagon Wheelers Square Dance Club for over 50 years and sang in numerous choirs. She is survived by her loving daughters Linda Jensen (Bob) of Langley, Janet Naylor (Steve) of Salmon Arm and son Richard Williams of Peace River, Alta; Grandchildren Lanni Bockhodt (Jeff), Kirsten Jensen, Stephanie Naylor (Stasia), Scott Naylor (Tiffanie), Kody Davidson and Kadyn Williams.; Great grandchildren Taryn Bockhodt, Jacob Bockhodt, Charlotte Naylor and Oakley Williams - MacDonald. Her final wish was to be with “her Harry” again and it was time for that wish to come true. Mum will be sadly missed. We love you, mum. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 14 at 11:30 am at First Memorial Chapel Kelowna, 1211 Sutherland Ave. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice.
