Peter Brychka passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, at the age of 81. Born in Kelowna, British Columbia, to Eva and Thomas Brychka, Peter lived a life defined by hard work, quiet strength, and a deep love for his family.
Peter was a devoted husband to Mary and a loving father to his sons, Brian and Jason. He was also a brother to Mary-Anne Ambrose and Andrew Brychka. He was predeceased by his beloved children, Shauna Marie Brychka and Jack Edward Brychka; his brothers, John and Fred; and his sister, Margaret.
Above all else, Peter was a family man. His wife and children always came first, and he dedicated his life to caring for them and providing for those he loved. He was hardworking, dependable, and honourable, a man whose love was reflected in his actions and whose family could count on him. He had a way of showing he cared by being there, lending a hand, fixing what needed fixing, or building something that would make life a little better for the people he loved.
Peter was a natural builder and a man who could turn an idea into something real. Whether constructing a workshop, creating something with his own hands, or making a special gift for a family member, he found satisfaction in bringing things to life. He took great pride in his work and in the things he created, leaving behind not only the things he built, but the memories and love that went into them.
When he wasn’t busy working on a project, Peter could often be found outdoors, tending to his yard, caring for his vegetable garden, or making sure his flower beds were beautiful. He found happiness in these simple pleasures, taking pride in his surroundings and putting the same care into his garden as he did into every other part of his life.
Peter’s life was a testament to the importance of family, hard work, and doing things with care. Though saying goodbye is never easy, the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, but he will never be forgotten.
